Dongdaemun Design Plaza
Ever since my last visit to Zaha Hadid's creation in Hong Kong, awed and intrigued, I'm eager to stop by her legacy in the next country I visit. Of course I didn't miss this one landmark in Seoul, Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
Spaceship! the word pop up in my head when I first saw this curvaceous metal facades. Recognized as the world largest three-dimensional amorphous architectural structure, Dongdaemun Design Plaza shortly DDP, withstand the powerful neofuturistic design character. The lines, curves, stairs and the walkable parks on its roofs, hold endless photogenic perspectives for us visitors.
DDP is home to many exhibitions, events, and the Seoul Fashion Week, that I missed by a week early. For the design enthusiast, stay late to see DDP lit up like bioluminescent space station at night.
